USBWA ANNOUNCES 2006-07 WOMEN'S HONORS
The U.S. Basketball Writers Association announced today its 2006-07 women's postseason honors. Tennessee's Candace Parker is the association's National Player of the Year, while Duke's Gail Goestenkors was chosen the USBWA Coach of the Year. Connecticut's Tina Charles is the USBWA's Freshman of the Year.

Texas freshman Kevin Durant has been selected player of the year and Tony Bennett, in his first year at Washington State, coach of the year by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association.

Freshman sensation Kevin Durant of Texas headlines the 2006-07 U.S. Basketball Writers Association's All-America Team, announced today by USBWA President Tom Shatel of the Omaha World-Herald.

The U.S. Basketball Writers Association has released its 2006-07 Men's All-District Teams, based on voting from its national membership. There are nine regions from coast to coast and a player and coach of the year are selected in each. Following is the entire region-by-region listing:
