UCLA relief pitcher David Berg is the 2013 recipient of the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association's Stopper of the Year Award, the NCBWA announced Saturday prior ot the beginning of the College World Series.

San Diego junior third baseman Kris Bryant is the 27th recipient of the Dick Howser Trophy, presented by Easton Foundations, as college baseball's Player of the Year. The presentation was made Saturday morning as part of a news conference at TD Ameritrade Park, site of the 2013 College World Series.

Indiana head coach Tracy Smith collected some individual hardware in Omaha before his Hoosiers play their first College World Series game in program history on Saturday night against Louisville.
