FLORIDA STATE'S POSEY CHOSEN AS 22nd RECIPIENT OF DICK HOWSER TROPHY

Buster Posey, Florida State's slugging catcher and Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year as well as 2008 CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic Baseball Player of the Year, is the 22nd annual recipient of the Dick Howser Trophy, presented by Whitney Bank.

FRESNO STATE'S BATESOLE IS NCBWA COACH OF THE YEAR

The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) has announced today that its inaugural National Coach of the Year Award will go to Fresno State skipper Mike Batesole. The award, which was voted on by the NCBWA Board of Directors, was chosen from a list that included all Division I Conference Coaches of the Year.

FORMER NCBWA PRESIDENT TOM PRICE PASSES AWAY

Tom Price, sports information director for 30 years at the University of South Carolina, passed away on Feb. 1 at the age of 81.
