Texas (29-5) tops NCBWA Division I Poll

DALLAS (NCBWA) – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association continues its tradition of NCAA Division I polls for the 28th year with its 2025 weekly surveys.

Texas becomes the fourth different squad – all from the Southeastern Conference – to rank No. 1 this spring in the survey. Clemson jumped to a season-high No. 2, while Tennessee, Arkansas and Georgia round out the top five, scrambled from last week after a whirlwind weekend of conference series activity.

Some of the other big movers from week nine to week 10 were Auburn from No. 16 to 9, Atlantic Coast Conference leader Georgia Tech from No. 21 to 14, Coastal Carolina, TCU and WKU from receiving votes to Nos. 20, 24 and 25, respectively.

There have been eight conferences and independents (eight again this week) represented in the first 10 standings of 2025, and there were 12 different conferences appearing in the 2024 NCBWA polls.

The 2025 poll voters come from among 33 college baseball writers and related media persons from throughout the nation. The ’25 season features 307 NCAA Division I baseball-playing schools, and for more information or to join the NCBWA, please go to ncbwa.com.
