WINGATE, N.C. (NCBWA) – The defending national champion University of Tampa Spartans remain atop the NCBWA top 25 poll, with the week seven rankings coming out Wednesday afternoon. The Spartans received all 20 first-place votes in this week’s poll, checking in at 23-4 on the season.
Central Missouri remains #2, with UT Tyler, Westmont and Grand Valley State rounding out the top five. Catawba jumps up eight spots to #6 this week, with Angelo State, Delta State, Lenoir-Rhyne and Minnesota State rounding out the top 10.
Seton Hill jumps up 10 spots this week to #12, with Florida Southern right behind them at #13, up seven spots from last week. Davenport is up four spots to #14, while Carson-Newman jumps up five spots to #16.
The three new teams in the rankings this week are Millersville at #17, Colorado Mesa at #22 and West Texas A&M at #25.
The NCBWA Region polls will be announced every Monday throughout the season, while national polls will come out every Wednesday.

Founded in 1962, the NCBWA is dedicated to the advancement of college baseball. Membership is open to writers, broadcasters and publicists of the sport. Members receive a membership card, directory, newsletter updates and official votes in the Dick Howser Trophy, Regional Players of the Year and NCBWA All-America voting. The NCBWA also sponsors Division I Players of the Week, the Stopper of the Year, and publication and writing contests.
