Arkansas (23-2) tops NCBWA Division I Poll

DALLAS (NCBWA) – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association continues its tradition of NCAA Division I polls for the 28th year with its 2025 weekly surveys.

Arkansas has jumped into the No. 1 position for the first time this season after previous No. 1 Tennessee had a 2-2 week and ended a 22-game win streak with a loss to East Tennessee State, 7-6 in 10 innings on March 18. Southeastern Conference quad-leaders (with Texas) Georgia and Tennessee are now Nos. 2 and 3 nationally. Atlantic Coast Conference power Clemson now is No. 4 (with a jump from No. 7 last week) while Florida State at No. 6 follows No. 5 LSU of the SEC.

Some of the other big movers from week six to week seven were Oklahoma from No. 12 to 9, Alabama from No. 16 to 11, Southern Miss from No. 21 to 15, Auburn from No. 25 to 16, Arizona from receiving votes to No. 19 and Ole Miss from No. 24 to 20, among others.

There have been eight conferences and independents (eight again this week) represented in the first seven standings of 2025, and there were 12 different conferences in the 2024 NCBWA polls.

The 2025 poll voters come from among 33 college baseball writers and related media persons from throughout the nation. The ’25 season features 307 NCAA Division I baseball-playing schools, and for more information or to join the NCBWA, please go to ncbwa.com.
