WINGATE, N.C. (NCBWA) – Defending national champion University of Tampa is back atop this week’s NCBWA top 25 poll, which was released Wednesday afternoon. The Spartans take back the top spot after North Greenville was the top-ranked team in last week’s poll. Tampa is 20-3 on the season, picking up 16 of the 20 first-place votes.
Central Missouri moves up one spot to number two, while North Greenville checks in at #3, picking up the other four first-place votes. Wesmont and UT Tyler round out the top five, while Grand Valley State and West Chester both move up four spots to check in at sixth and seventh, respectively. Lenoir-Rhyne is up five spots to number eight, with Angelo State and Delta State rounding out the top 10.
Minnesota State is up nine spots to #11, with East Stroudsburg jumping up four spots to number 12. Catawba is up five spots, checking in at #14 this week, while Rollins is also up five spots, climbing to 16th this week. Harding is up six spots to check in at #17.
Three new teams to the poll this week are Seton Hill at #22, Northwest Nazarene at #24 and Bentley rounding out the poll at #25.
The NCBWA Region polls will be announced every Monday throughout the season, while national polls will come out every Wednesday.

Members receive a membership card, directory, newsletter updates and official votes in the Dick Howser Trophy, Regional Players of the Year and NCBWA All-America voting. The NCBWA also sponsors Division I Players of the Week, the Stopper of the Year, and publication and writing contests.
