WINGATE, N.C. (NCBWA) – The University of Tampa Spartans are back on top of the NCBWA Division II baseball poll, which was released Wednesday afternoon. Tampa was #1 in the preseason and week-one poll, with North Greenville sitting atop the poll each of the last two weeks. Tampa is 13-2 on the season, receiving 13 of the 20 first-place votes in this week’s poll.
North Greenville drops to number two, with Angelo State dropping to third and each team collecting three first-place votes. Central Missouri remains fourth, while Westmont moves up three spots to number five and also picking up a first-place vote. Florida Southern and UT Tyler remain at six and seven, with East Stroudsburg jumping up 11 spots to #8 with a 10-0 start to the year. Catawba and Point Loma move into the top 10 this week as well.
Harding enters the poll at #12 after not receiving votes last week, while Grand Valley State is 14th after also not being mentioned last week. Mount Olive is #16, another team that did not pick up a vote last week, along with Minnesota State at #18 and Rollins at #20. Millersville is the other new team in the poll, checking in at #24.
The NCBWA Region polls will be announced every Monday throughout the season, while national polls will come out every Wednesday.

Founded in 1962, the NCBWA is dedicated to the advancement of college baseball. Membership is open to writers, broadcasters and publicists of the sport. Members receive a membership card, directory, newsletter updates and official votes in the Dick Howser Trophy, Regional Players of the Year and NCBWA All-America voting. The NCBWA also sponsors Division I Players of the Week, the Stopper of the Year, and publication and writing contests.
