North Greenville (14-1) tops NCBWA Division II Poll

WINGATE, N.C. (NCBWA) – For the second consecutive week, 2022 national champion North Greenville is the top-ranked team in the NCBWA Division II top 25 poll, which was released Wednesday afternoon. 2023 national champion Angelo State checks in at number two, while defending champion Tampa jumps up three spots to move into third this week. Central Missouri and UIndy round out the top five in week three.

Florida Southern is sixth this week, with UT Tyler jumping up five spots to number seven. Westmont makes a big jump from #16 last week to eighth this week, with Southern New Hampshire and West Chester rounding out the top 10. West Chester was another big mover, going from #15 last week to into the top 10 this week.

Catawba moves up six spots to #11, while Delta State is up four spots, checking in at #16. Six new teams are in this week’s poll, including St. Edwards (18th), Pittsburg State (20th) and Carson-Newman (21st) who were all receiving votes last week. The other three newcomers to the poll are West Texas A&M (23rd), Davenport (24th) and Embry-Riddle (25th), who were not mentioned in last week’s ranking.

The NCBWA Region polls will be announced every Monday throughout the season, while national polls will come out every Wednesday.

Founded in 1962, the NCBWA is dedicated to the advancement of college baseball. Membership is open to writers, broadcasters and publicists of the sport.
