Tennessee (42-10) tops NCBWA Division I Poll

DALLAS (NCBWA) – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association continues its tradition of NCAA Division I polls for the 27th year with its 2024 weekly surveys.

Tennessee remained at No. 1 ahead of three other Southeastern Conference teams in the Nos. 2-4 locales (No. 2 Arkansas, No. 3 Kentucky and No. 4 Texas A&M). Kentucky rose to a season-best spot, while North Carolina, of the Atlantic Coast Conference, climbed to a season-best No. 5.

Some of the big movers from week 12 to week 13 are North Carolina No. 10 to 5, Oregon State from No. 9 to 6, Wake Forest from No. 12 to 8, Georgia from No. 14 to 9, UC Irvine from No. 16 to 13, Oklahoma from No. 18 to 15 and Louisiana and Alabama from receiving votes to Nos. 22 and 25, respectively, among others.

There have been 12 conferences (eight this week) represented in the first 10 standings of 2024, and there were 15 different conferences in the 2023 NCBWA polls.

The 2024 poll voters come from among 33 college baseball writers and related media persons from throughout the nation. The ’24 season features 305 NCAA Division I baseball-playing schools.
