Texas' Disu headlines Oscar Robertson Trophy National Players of the Week

The U.S. Basketball Writers Association has named five Oscar Robertson National Players of the Week for games of the week ending Sunday, Feb. 11.

North Carolina's Ustby, Texas A&M's Barker are USBWA women's national players of the week

For the season’s seventh weekly women’s awards from the U.S. Basketball Writers Association, for games ending Sunday, Jan. 22, North Carolina guard-forward Alyssa Ustby is the Ann Meyers Drysdale National Player of the Week, Texas A&M forward Janiah Barker is the Tamika Cathcing National Freshman of the Week and Middle Tennessee is the team of the week.

For the season's sixth honorees for games ending Sunday, Feb. 7, the U.S. Basketball Writers Association Ann Meyers Drysdale Women's National Player of the Week goes to Oklahoma State forward Natasha Mack, the organization's Tamika Catchings women's freshman player honor goes once more to Connecticut guard Paige Bueckers, and our USBWA women's team citation goes to Texas A&M for performances in the voting period.

USBWA NAMES 2019-20 WOMEN'S ALL-AMERICA TEAM

Three Oregon Ducks highlight the 2019-20 U.S. Basketball Writers Association Women's All-America Team. Pac-12 Player of the Year Sabrina Ionescu is joined by teammates Ruthy Hebard on the first team and Satou Sebally as a second-team selection. Ionescu, a three-time USBWA All-American, is the lone repeat first-team selection.

USBWA PRESENTS 2017-18 WOMEN'S HONORS

The U.S. Basketball Writers Association announced the winners of its three major women's awards Friday at the site of this weekend's Final Four. All three winners hail from the Southeastern Conference. A'ja Wilson of South Carolina is the winner of the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award as the National Player of the Year. Vic Schaefer of Mississippi State earned the National Coach of the Year Award, and Chennedy Carter of Texas A&M is the National Freshman of the Year, based on voting by the USBWA membership. USBWA representative Mel Greenberg made the presentations.

USBWA ANNOUNCES 2010-11 WOMEN'S HONORS

The U.S. Basketball Writers Association has chosen the recipients of its 2010-11 women's postseason honors. Connecticut's Maya Moore is the National Player of the Year, while Baylor's Kim Mulkey is the National Coach of the Year and Baylor's Odyssey Sims is the National Freshman of the Year. All three selections will be honored at the USBWA Women's Awards Breakfast on Tues., April 5 in Indianapolis.
