Alabama's Sears headlines Oscar Robertson Trophy National Players of the Week

The U.S. Basketball Writers Association has named five Oscar Robertson National Players of the Week for games of the week ending Sunday, Feb. 23.

Notre Dame's Miles headlines Ann Meyers Drysdale National Players of the Week

The return of collegiate basketball means the return of the U.S. Basketball Writers Association handing out its women’s five-member Ann Meyers Drysdale national players of the week, its Tamika Catchings freshman award, and noting its National Team of the Week. For the period through Sunday, Nov. 10, the first five Ann Meyers Drysdale national women’s honorees of the season are Rutgers guard/forward Destiny Adams, Oklahoma center Raegan Beers, UCLA center Lauren Betts, Norfolk State guard Diamond Johnson, and Notre Dame guard Olivia Miles. The initial Tamika Catchings National Freshman of the Week is Michigan guard Syla Swords and Oregon is the USBWA National Team of the Week.

CLARK, COLLINS ARE USBWA WOMEN'S NATIONAL, FRESHMAN PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

For the season's seventh honorees for games ending Monday, Jan. 17, the U.S. Basketball Writers Association Ann Meyers Drysdale Women's National Player of the Week goes to Iowa guard Caitlin Clark, the organization's Tamika Catchings women's freshman player honor goes to Chicago State guard Aaliyah Collins, and the USBWA women's team citation goes to Oklahoma and Oregon.

USBWA ANNOUNCES 2019-20 WOMEN'S HONORS

The U.S. Basketball Writers Association is proud to announce the winners of its three major individual women's awards. The honorees include the NCAA's all-time triple-doubles leader, the coach of the top-ranked team and a freshman sensation off the All-Southeastern Conference team. Sabrina Ionescu of Oregon is the winner of the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award as the National Player of the Year, Dawn Staley of South Carolina earned the National Coach of the Year Award and Aliyah Boston of South Carolina is the Tamika Catchings Award winner as the National Freshman Player of the Year, based on voting by the USBWA membership. Longtime USBWA representative Mel Greenberg coordinated the voting and selection process.

USBWA NAMES 2019-20 MEN'S ALL-AMERICA TEAM

A trio of seniors that includes a repeat selection and the Division I career field goal percentage leader – plus two others who are their schools' most decorated players – has been named to the U.S. Basketball Writers Association's 2019-20 All-America First Team. The team includes three players who are USBWA District Players of the Year and four of the five are player of the year honorees in their respective conferences.

USBWA NAMES 2019-20 WOMEN'S ALL-AMERICA TEAM

Three Oregon Ducks highlight the 2019-20 U.S. Basketball Writers Association Women's All-America Team. Pac-12 Player of the Year Sabrina Ionescu is joined by teammates Ruthy Hebard on the first team and Satou Sebally as a second-team selection. Ionescu, a three-time USBWA All-American, is the lone repeat first-team selection.

USBWA UNVEILS OSCAR ROBERTSON TROPHY MIDSEASON WATCH LIST

The U.S. Basketball Writers Association has selected 12 standout players for its 2019-20 Oscar Robertson Trophy Midseason Watch List. Members of the association's board of directors chose the players that will be considered as contenders for the National Player of the Year.

OREGON'S DUARTE IS OSCAR ROBERTSON NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

The U.S. Basketball Writers Association has selected Oregon guard Chris Duarte as its Oscar Robertson National Player of the Week for games ending the week of Sunday, Jan. 26.

IONESCU, ROBINSON ARE USBWA WOMEN'S NATIONAL, FRESHMAN PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

For the season's tenth U.S. Basketball Writers Association Ann Meyers Drysdale Women's National Player of the Week and the organization's Tamika Catchings women's freshman player honor, Oregon guard Sabrina Ionescu is national player while Clemson forward Amari Robinson has been chosen for the freshman citation after each helped their teams go unbeaten ending the week of Sunday, Jan. 19.

OREGON'S PRITCHARD IS OSCAR ROBERTSON NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

The U.S. Basketball Writers Association has selected Oregon guard Payton Pritchard as its Oscar Robertson National Player of the Week for games ending the week of Sunday, Dec. 15.

USBWA PRESENTS 2016-17 WOMEN'S HONORS

Two recipients from Pac-12 schools and a multi-repeat winner highlighted the annual U.S. Basketball Writers Association women's awards news conference Friday at the American Airlines Center preceeding the NCAA national semifinals in the arena. Washington's Kelsey Plum took the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award as the national player of the year, Connecticut's Geno Auriemma took the National Coach of the Year Award for a sixth time, and Oregon's Sabrina Ionescu took the National Freshman of the Year honor.
