The U.S. Basketball Writers Association has named five Oscar Robertson National Players of the Week for games of the week ending Sunday, Feb. 2.
Gonzaga's Ejim headlines USBWA's women's weekly honors
For the period through Sunday, Jan. 19, the five Ann Meyers Drysdale national women’s honorees of the week are UConn guard Paige Bueckers; Gonzaga forward Yvonne Ejim; NC State guard Aziaha James; Richmond guard Rachel Ullstrom; LSU guard Mikaylah Williams; the Tamika Catchings National Freshmen of the Week are Vanderbilt guard Makayla Blakes and Nebraska guard Britt Prince; and for the second straight week the National Team of the Week is South Carolina.

SHERROD, MARKOWSKI ARE USBWA WOMEN'S NATIONAL, FRESHMAN PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
For the season's sixth honorees for games ending Sunday, Jan. 9, the U.S. Basketball Writers Association Ann Meyers Drysdale Women's National Player of the Week goes to Colorado guard Jaylyn Sherrod, the organization's Tamika Catchings women's freshman player honor goes to Nebraska forward Alexis Markowski, and the USBWA women's team citation goes to Colorado.
USBWA ANNOUNCES 2009-10 WOMEN'S HONORS
The U.S. Basketball Writers Association has chosen the recipients of its 2009-10 women's postseason honors. Connecticut's Tina Charles is the National Player of the Year, while Nebraska coach Connie Yori is the National Coach of the Year and Baylor's Brittney Griner is the National Freshman of the Year. All three selections will be honored at he USBWA Women's Awards Breakfast on Tues., April 6 in San Antonio.
