Minnesota's Garcia headlines Oscar Robertson Trophy National Players of the Week
The U.S. Basketball Writers Association has named five Oscar Robertson National Players of the Week for games of the week ending Sunday, Jan. 26.
Notre Dame's Miles headlines USBWA's women's weekly honors
For the period through Sunday, Dec. 29, the five Ann Meyers Drysdale national women’s honorees of the week are Georgia Tech guard Kara Dunn; Washington guard Elle Ladine; Notre Dame guard Olivia Miles; Maryland guard Kaylene Smikle; USC guard JuJu Watkins (National); Tori McKinney, Minnesota (Freshman) and Norfolk State (Team).
McKillop, Smith to be presented with Dean Smith Award in Greensboro
In an evening of basketball legends hosted by the Greensboro Sports Council, Bob McKillop and Tubby Smith will be honored with the U.S. Basketball Writers Association’s Dean Smith Award, recognizing an individual in basketball who embodies the spirit and values of the late Coach Smith. McKillop, who won in 2019, and Smith, who won in 2021, will be presented with their awards at the Tanger Center for the Performing Arts at 300 N. Elm Street in Greensboro. A fireside chat with the legendary coaches will follow. The awards presentation is set for Tuesday, April 11 at 6 p.m ET.

The U.S. Basketball Writers Association has selected Minnesota center Liam Robbins as its Oscar Robertson National Player of the Week for games ending the week of Sunday, Jan. 3.
PITTS, LEE ARE USBWA WOMEN'S NATIONAL, FRESHMAN PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
For the season's fifth U.S. Basketball Writers Association Ann Meyers Drysdale Women's National Player of the Week and the organization's Tamika Catchings women's freshman player honor, Minnesota guard/forward Destiny Pitts is national player while Kansas State center Ayoka Lee has been tabbed for the freshman citation after each helped their teams go unbeaten ending the week of Sunday, Dec. 15.
USBWA ANNOUNCES 2004-05 WOMEN'S HONORS
The U.S. Basketball Writers Association announced today its 2004-05 women's postseason honors. LSU's Seimone Augustus and Pokey Chatman are the association's National Player and Coach of the Year. It's the seventh time since the USBWA started naming both a coach and player of the year in 1989-90 that both honorees have come from the same school.
