West Virginia's Small headlines Oscar Robertson Trophy National Players of the Week

The U.S. Basketball Writers Association has named five Oscar Robertson National Players of the Week for games of the week ending Sunday, Dec. 1.

USBWA unveils 2022-23 women's All-America Team

Eight returning All-Americans including the nation’s leading scorer and assists leaders and six conference players of the year headline the 2022-23 U.S. Basketball Writers Association Women's All-America Team. There are 13 different schools represented on the 15-player team that for the second consecutive season has top-ranked and overall No. 1 NCAA Tournament seed South Carolina and Stanford each earning claiming two selections.

EVANS, BUECKERS ARE USBWA WOMEN'S NATIONAL, FRESHMAN PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

For the season's fourth honorees for games ending Sunday, Jan. 24, the U.S. Basketball Writers Association Ann Meyers Drysdale Women's National Player of the Week goes to Louisville guard Dana Evans, the organization's Tamika Catchings women's freshman player honor goes to UConn guard Paige Bueckers, and our USBWA women's team citation goes to UCLA for performances in the voting period.

USBWA NAMES 2019-20 MEN'S ALL-AMERICA TEAM

A trio of seniors that includes a repeat selection and the Division I career field goal percentage leader – plus two others who are their schools' most decorated players – has been named to the U.S. Basketball Writers Association's 2019-20 All-America First Team. The team includes three players who are USBWA District Players of the Year and four of the five are player of the year honorees in their respective conferences.

USBWA NAMES 2019-20 WOMEN'S ALL-AMERICA TEAM

Three Oregon Ducks highlight the 2019-20 U.S. Basketball Writers Association Women's All-America Team. Pac-12 Player of the Year Sabrina Ionescu is joined by teammates Ruthy Hebard on the first team and Satou Sebally as a second-team selection. Ionescu, a three-time USBWA All-American, is the lone repeat first-team selection.

USBWA UNVEILS OSCAR ROBERTSON TROPHY MIDSEASON WATCH LIST

The U.S. Basketball Writers Association has selected 12 standout players for its 2019-20 Oscar Robertson Trophy Midseason Watch List. Members of the association's board of directors chose the players that will be considered as contenders for the National Player of the Year.

EVANS, BOSTON ARE USBWA WOMEN'S NATIONAL, FRESHMAN PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

For the season's third U.S. Basketball Writers Association Ann Meyers Drysdale Women's National Player of the Week and the organization's Tamika Catchings women's freshman player honor, Louisville guard Dana Evans is national player while South Carolina forward Aliyah Boston has been tabbed for the freshman citation after each helped their team win games ending the week of Sunday, Dec. 1.

USBWA ANNOUNCES 2008-09 WOMEN'S HONORS

The U.S. Basketball Writers Association has chosen the recipients of its 2008-09 women's postseason honors. For the third time, Connecticut has swept the association's player and coach the year awards. Sophomore Maya Moore, the 2008 USBWA Freshman of the Year, is the 2009 USBWA National Player of the Year, while coach Geno Auriemma has captured USBWA National Coach of the Year honors for the second straight season and fourth time overall. Eight other times, the player and coach of the year have come from the same school.

USBWA ANNOUNCES 2007-08 WOMEN'S HONORS

The U.S. Basketball Writers Association announced today its 2007-08 women's postseason honors. For the second straight season, Tennessee's Candace Parker is the association's National Player of the Year, while Connecticut's Geno Auriemma is the USBWA Coach of the Year for the third time in his career. Connecticut's Maya Moore is the USBWA's Freshman of the Year.

Three backcourt mates from Illinois and teammates from both Duke and North Carolina headline the list of 16 finalists for the 2005 Oscar Robertson Trophy, the player of the year award presented by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association.
