USBWA unveils 2024-25 Women's All-America Team
Many familiar faces are featured on the 2024-25 U.S. Basketball Writers Association's Women's All-America Team, with 11 of 15 players on the three teams having earned previous All-America honors from the USBWA.
Kentucky's Amoore headlines USBWA's women's weekly honors
For the period through Sunday, Feb. 2, the five Ann Meyers Drysdale national women’s honorees of the week are Kentucky guard Georgia Amoore; Notre Dame guard Hannah Hidalgo; Iowa guard Lucy Olsen; Columbia guard Riley Weiss; UNCW forward Ali Zelaya. The Tamika Catchings National Freshman of the Week is Vanderbilt guard Makayla Blakes and and the National Team of the Week is North Carolina.
Florida State's Latson headlines USBWA's women's weekly honors
For the period through Sunday, Jan. 5, the five Ann Meyers Drysdale national women’s honorees of the week are Kentucky guard Georgia Amoore; UCLA center Lauren Betts; Drake guard Katie Dinnebier; Florida State guard Ta’Niya Latson; and Seton Hall forward Faith Masonius. The Tamika Catchings National Freshman of the Week is Texas guard Jordan Lee, and the National Team of the Week is Clemson.
Arkansas State's Todd headlines Oscar Robertson Trophy National Players of the Week
The U.S. Basketball Writers Association has named five Oscar Robertson National Players of the Week for games of the week ending Sunday, Dec. 15
TCU teammates headline Ann Meyers Drysdale National Players of the Week
For the period through Sunday, Dec. 1, the five Ann Meyers Drysdale national women’s honorees of the week are Florida State guard Ta’Niya Latson, LSU forward Aneesah Morrow, TCU guard Hailey Van and center Sedona Prince, and Kentucky center Clara Strack. The Tamika Catchings National Freshman of the Week is Texas forward Justice Carlton and the National Team of the Week is Duke.

Last season’s Oscar Robertson Trophy winner and the nation's leading scorer, three repeat selections, a pair of North Carolina teammates and four SEC stars headline the 2023-24 U.S. Basketball Writers Association's Men's All-America Team. The 15-man team includes a player from each of the NCAA Tournament’s four No. 1 seeds and six players who were their conference players of the year.
Kentucky's Sheppard wins 2024 Wayman Tisdale Award as National Freshman of the Year
INDIANAPOLIS (USBWA) – Kentucky guard Reed Sheppard, one of the country’s top three-point shooters, the Southeastern Conference’s Freshman of the Year and a member of its all-conference second team, has won the 2023-24 Wayman Tisdale Award as the U.S. Basketball Writers Association's National Freshman Player of the Year.
McKillop, Smith to be presented with Dean Smith Award in Greensboro
In an evening of basketball legends hosted by the Greensboro Sports Council, Bob McKillop and Tubby Smith will be honored with the U.S. Basketball Writers Association’s Dean Smith Award, recognizing an individual in basketball who embodies the spirit and values of the late Coach Smith. McKillop, who won in 2019, and Smith, who won in 2021, will be presented with their awards at the Tanger Center for the Performing Arts at 300 N. Elm Street in Greensboro. A fireside chat with the legendary coaches will follow. The awards presentation is set for Tuesday, April 11 at 6 p.m ET.

INDIANAPOLIS (USBWA) – A three-time All-American, three repeat members, last year’s Oscar Robertson Trophy winner and four players from the Big Ten are all members of the 2022-23 U.S. Basketball Writers Association's All-America Team. The 15-man team includes a member from each of the NCAA Tournament’s No. 1 seeds, seven players who were their conference players of the year, four players who were USBWA district players of the year, two of the country's top eight scorers and four of the top seven rebounders.

Kentucky forward Oscar Tshiebwe, an elite rebounder, a unanimous All-American and the Southeastern Conference Player and Defensive Player of the Year with a prolific double-double average, has been named the winner of the Oscar Robertson Trophy as the National Player of the Year as selected by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association.
USBWA NAMES 2021-22 WOMEN'S ALL-AMERICA TEAM
Seven repeat selections including four from the first team and three three-time members headline the 2021-22 U.S. Basketball Writers Association Women's All-America Team. There are 13 different schools represented on the 15-woman team with top-ranked and No. 1 overall NCAA Tournament seed South Carolina and Stanford each boasting two selections.

Three Oregon Ducks highlight the 2019-20 U.S. Basketball Writers Association Women's All-America Team. Pac-12 Player of the Year Sabrina Ionescu is joined by teammates Ruthy Hebard on the first team and Satou Sebally as a second-team selection. Ionescu, a three-time USBWA All-American, is the lone repeat first-team selection.

The U.S. Basketball Writers Association has selected Kentucky forward Nick Richards as its Oscar Robertson National Player of the Week for games ending the week of Sunday, Dec. 29.
USBWA ANNOUNCES 2018-19 WOMEN'S HONORS
The U.S. Basketball Writers Association announced the winners of its three major women's awards Friday at the site of this weekend's Final Four. The honorees include the nation's scoring leader, the coach of the top-ranked and top-seeded NCAA Tournament team and a freshman sensation off the All-Southeastern Conference team. Megan Gustafson of Iowa is the winner of the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award as the National Player of the Year. Kim Mulkey of Baylor earned the National Coach of the Year Award, and Rhyne Howard of Kentucky is the National Freshman of the Year, based on voting by the USBWA membership. USBWA representative Mel Greenberg made the presentations.
KENTUCKY'S DAVIS WINS 2011-12 OSCAR ROBERTSON TROPHY
The U.S. Basketball Writers Association has selected Kentucky freshman forward Anthony Davis as the winner of the 2011-12 Oscar Robertson Trophy, annually presented to the National Player of the Year.
