BAYLOR'S GRINER WINS 2011-12 ANN MEYERS DRYSDALE AWARD
Baylor sensation Brittney Griner received the U.S. Basketball Writers Association's newly-named Ann Meyers Drysdale National Player of the Year Award Tuesday morning at the association's annual awards breakfast at the Hyatt Hotel, NCAA headquarters for the Women's Final Four. Griner is the 25th recipient of the USBWA National Player of the Year Award.
KENTUCKY'S DAVIS WINS 2011-12 OSCAR ROBERTSON TROPHY
The U.S. Basketball Writers Association has selected Kentucky freshman forward Anthony Davis as the winner of the 2011-12 Oscar Robertson Trophy, annually presented to the National Player of the Year.
MISSOURI'S HAITH WINS 2011-12 HENRY IBA COACH OF THE YEAR AWARD
Missouri's Frank Haith is the 2011-12 recipient of the Henry Iba Coach of the Year Award, presented annually to the National Coach of the Year by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association.
USBWA NAMES 2011-12 MEN'S ALL-DISTRICT TEAMS
The U.S. Basketball Writers Association has released its 2011-12 Men's All-District Teams, based on voting from its national membership. There are nine regions from coast to coast and a player and coach of the year are selected in each. Following is the entire region-by-region listing:
