Five repeat honorees, 16 players in CFP dot 2024 FWAA All-America Team presented by the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic
The 2024 Football Writers Association of America All-America Team , presented in partnership with the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic, has five repeat All-Americans and 16 players on teams competing in the College Football Playoff at the front of players from 40 different schools. Players from the expanded Big Ten and Southeastern Conferences make up 27, or half, of the 54-member team with nine of the Football Bowl Subdivision conferences represented plus an Independent.

Miami's Cooper is Outland Trophy National Player of the Week
Guard Anez Cooper was the top-graded offensive lineman from a Miami Hurricanes blocking front facing a stiff test against Texas A&M. For helping the Hurricanes gain 451 total yards averaging 8.4 yards per play in their 48-33 win over the No. 25 Aggies, the Miami guard earned the Outland Trophy National Player of the Week honor for games of the weekend of Sept. 9, as selected by the Football Writers Association of America.
A preseason look at our first-year award candidates
The Football Writers Association of America has released a list of top candidates for the Steve Spurrier First-Year Coach of the Year Award, Freshman Player of the Year and the 2023 FWAA Freshman All-America Team. The Steve Spurrier First-Year Coach Award, presented by Chris Doering Mortgage, goes to the best first-year coach (at his school) in FBS football. The recipients of the Steve Spurrier First-Year Coach of the Year, the FWAA Freshman of the Year and a Spurrier Legends Coach awardee will be honored at a special reception in Februray in Gainesville, Fla.

FWAA unveils 2021 Super 11 Award winners
Three first-time winners and eight previous ones comprise the 13th Super 11 Awards, which the Football Writers Association of America gives out annually to the best performing sports information departments in the Football Bowl Subdivision. The awards announced this week are for the 2021 season. In addition, the FWAA presented a Super 11 Coach of the Year Award to Boston College Coach Jeff Hafley who granted outstanding access to his program during the 2021 season. He is the fourth head coach to win this award, which began with the 2018 season.

Utah's Jordan Gross, Washington State's Rien Long, and Miami's Brett Romberg have been named finalists for the 2002 Outland Trophy, the third oldest award in college football.
TWO UNBEATENS REMAIN ATOP GRANTLAND RICE SUPER 16 POLL
Miami continued its run at the top of the FWAA/Grantland Rice Super 16 Poll, earning each of the 16 first-place votes for the third straight week since recapturing the top spot. Ohio State, which has finished its season at 13-0, is ranked second and has again captured every second place vote. The unanimous choice of Miami and Ohio State as the top two teams in the poll also continues for a third straight week.
MIAMI'S SIKES IS SEASON'S FIRST NAGURSKI PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Miami junior safety Maurice Sikes is the season's first recipient of the Bronko Nagurski National Defensive Player of the Week Award for his performance in the Hurricanes' decisive 41-16 victory over Florida this past Saturday in Gainesville.
MIAMI IS FWAA'S TEAM OF THE WEEK
The Miami Hurricanes handed Florida its worst home loss in 23 years, 41-16, and were named the Football Writers Association of America's "Team of the Week" for games of the weekend of Sept. 7.
MIAMI WINS GRANTLAND RICE TROPHY
The Miami Hurricanes, capping a perfect 12-0 season with a 37-14 victory over Nebraska in the Rose Bowl, were named the 2001 winners of the Grantland Rice Trophy on Friday.

Miami offensive tackle Bryant McKinnie was named the winner of the 2001 Outland Trophy on Thursday night during the ESPN College Football Awards Show.
