Linebacker's pick six earns Buffalo the Pop-Tarts Crazy Good Play of the Week

DALLAS (FWAA) – Florida Citrus Sports and Pop-Tarts have teamed up to present the Pop-Tarts ‘Crazy Good’ Play of the Week during the 2024-25 college football season, with each week's play selected in conjunction with the Football Writers Association of America.

Now in its second season, the award celebrates incredible athleticism, awe-inspiring strategy and jaw-dropping “did you see that?” moments from across the college football landscape each week.

Buffalo is the winner of the Pop-Tarts Crazy Good Play of the Week for Week 13 for linebacker Shaun Dolac's game-sealing 60-yard interception return.

Dolac, a 6-1, 225-pound graduate student from West Seneca, N.Y., led the Bulls defense in a 37-20 win over Eastern Michigan last Wednesday with nine tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack and two interceptions. It was his second pick and subsequent 60-yard scoring ramble that got the nation's attention.

Buffalo raced to a 17-0 lead in the game, but Eastern Michigan cut the deficit to just three points at one point midway through the fourth quarter. Trailing 30-20, the Eagles were trying to rally when Dolac stepped in front of a Jeremiah Salem pass at the Buffalo 40. He then proceeded to skip past one would-be tackler, hurdle another and cut back across the field to the end zone to put the game away.

Throughout the season, the FWAA is announcing the Pop-Tarts Crazy Good Play of the Week at the conclusion of each week's games, after the FWAA All-America committee selects one outstanding play each weekend during the regular season. All NCAA Division I schools are eligible

To celebrate the honor, each winning team receives a care package of Pop-Tarts toaster pastries.

The Pop-Tarts Crazy Good Play of the Week follows Pop-Tarts' entry into college football with the Pop-Tarts Bowl, organized and managed by Florida Citrus Sports, and fans can nominate their favorite plays through the Pop-Tarts social media accounts (@PopTartsBowl).
