Andrea Adelson
Orlando--Hello fellow FWAA members!
We are a few weeks into what will be the longest college football season on record, so I hope everyone has settled in for what will be quite a ride! I have made it to Florida and Florida State so far this season, with a third on deck Saturday, when I travel to the big rivalry game between Colorado State and Colorado. Whether Deion Sanders takes my questions remains to be seen.
In all seriousness, I felt this was a good time to remind everyone that the FWAA is here for you should you encounter any issues throughout the course of the season. That includes access to coaches and players, credentialing, press box and field access and postgame interview procedures. For a quick reminder on guidelines the FWAA has set forth, please consult Page 22 of our FWAA directory.
As you continue to head to games, please make sure you are extended the courtesy of an open press box at least two hours before kickoff, and until three hours after the game. We have had issues in the past with press boxes closing unusually early. If this happens to you, please let us know so we can reach out to the schools and come to a resolution.
I am always available to talk or chat any time. In fact, fellow officers Shehan Jeyarajah and Bill Bender and myself have discussed the idea of holding monthly Zoom calls where FWAA members can chat with us, vent or enjoy the fellowship. Please fill out this form so we can gauge whether this is something that would be of interest.
