BROWN, RAMIREZ-TEJEDA ARE USBWA
DIV. III NATIONAL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

INDIANAPOLIS (USBWA) Isaiah Brown of SUNY Potsdam (Potsdam, N.Y.) and Yuleska Ramirez-Tejeda of Emmanuel College (Boston, Mass.) were named the U.S. Basketball Writers Association Division III National Players of the Week for the week ending February 16.

Brown, a 6-6 sophomore forward from Queens, N.Y., averaged over 37 points and recorded a pair of double-doubles as SUNY Potsdam (18-5, 13-3) faced two conference foes last week. In a 93-88 road loss to Cortland on Friday, Brown scored 33 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and added two blocks. He came back the next day to score a career-high 42 points at Oswego State, just one less than the program record, as the Bears defeated the Lakers 76-62. Brown added 15 points, an assist, steal, and block in the contest. For the week, he averaged 37.5 points, 12.5 rebounds, 1.5 blocks, 0.5 assists, and 0.5 steals while shooting 58.7 percent (27-of-46) from the field, 84.6 percent (11-of-13) from the foul line and 47.6 percent (10-of-21) from three-point range. For his efforts, Brown, was also named the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Athlete of the Week for the fourth time in the last five weeks.

Ramirez-Tejeda, a 5-8 senior guard from Cambridge, Mass., recorded a pair of double-doubles as Emmanuel (17-7, 8-2) posted two conference victories last week. On Wednesday, she scored 25 points (nine in the fourth quarter), grabbed 11 rebounds, dished out three assists, and added two steals as the Saints won at Albertus Magnus, 73-71. Then, in Saturday's 81-40 win against St. Joseph's (Maine), Ramirez-Tejeda totaled 18 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, and three steals. For the week, she averaged 21.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.5 steals while shooting 58.8 percent (20-of-34) from the field and 50 percent (3-of-6) from the foul line. For her efforts, Ramirez-Tejeda, who is tied for the NCAA Division III lead with 18 double-doubles this season, was also named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week for the third time this season and for the ninth time in her career.

Each Tuesday, the USBWA is selecting men's and women's Division III National Players of the Week. This is the sixth season that the USBWA will recognize national players of the week from Division III.

The U.S. Basketball Writers Association was formed in 1956 at the urging of then-NCAA Executive Director Walter Byers. With some 900 members worldwide, it is one of the most influential organizations in college basketball. It has selected an All-America team since the 1956-57 season.
