No. 1 Tennessee captured its first NCAA Baseball Championship this year after starting 2024 at No. 5 in the NCBWA polls while NCAA runnerup was preseason No. 10 Texas A&M.

Texas A&M's Aschenbeck wins 2024 NCBWA Stopper of the Year Award

Texas A&M reliever Evan Aschenbeck has been announced as the 2024 Stopper of the Year by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA), the organization announced Friday. Aschenbeck is the fourth player from the Southeastern Conference to earn this prestigious honor, joining Georgia’s Joshua Fields (2008), Florida’s Michael Byrne (2018) and Arkansas’ Kevin Kopps (2021).

Tampa (52-8) tops final NCBWA Division II Poll

The national champion University of Tampa Spartans capped a dominant year by winning the eighth NCAA Division II baseball title in school history, and earning the unanimous top spot in the final NCBWA top 25 poll of the 2024 season. Tampa was the top-ranked team in every poll during the regular season, after checking in at #3 in the preseason poll.

NCBWA announces 2024 Division I All-America Teams

The 2024 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association’s 24th All-America first, second and third teams announced Wednesday feature a plethora of the finest NCAA Division I standouts at the plate, afield and on the mound. There are 19 different conferences and 16 conference championship squads represented among the ’24 stars. The three All-America squads are also made up of 14 conference players or co-players of the year, nine conference pitchers of the year, two conference relief pitchers of the year, and one circuit defensive player of the year.

Burress, Knaak are 2024 National Freshman Players of the Year

Georgia Tech outfielder Drew Burress and Clemson right-hander Aidan Knaak have been named the 2024 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association National Freshman Hitter and Pitcher of the Year recipients, as announced by the organization today.

A total of 34 standout college baseball players from every part of the country are featured on the 2024 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Freshman All-American Team, the organization announced today. 

Messina, May are Dick Howser Trophy National Players of the Month

The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association has named its Dick Howser Trophy Players of the Month for May, presented by The Game Headwear, tabbing South Carolina catcher Cole Messina its hitter of the month and Oregon State’s Aiden May its national pitcher of the month.

NCBWA announces 2024 District Players of the Year

The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association announced its 26th Annual District Players of the Year for all nine districts for the 2024 season.

Five finalists named for 2024 Dick Howser Trophy

The five finalists for the Howser Trophy, which has been presented since 1987 except for the 2020 COVID-shortened season, are junior second baseman Travis Bazzana of Oregon State, junior pitcher Chase Burns of Wake Forest, junior first baseman/pitcher Jac Caglianone of Florida, redshirt sophomore third baseman/first baseman/outfielder Charlie Condon of Georgia, and junior starting pitcher Hagen Smith of Arkansas.

Finalists for the 19th rendition of the NCBWA Stopper of the Year Award, given to the top relief pitcher in NCAA Division I Baseball, have been named. 

Tennessee (53-11) tops NCBWA Division I Poll

No. 1 NCAA Championship seed Tennessee is No. 1 in the survey for the fifth week in succession while Kentucky, Texas A&M and North Carolina remain Nos. 2-4 ahead of No. 5 Clemson as 16 teams compete for eight spots at the NCAA World Series June 14-22/23 at Charles Schwab Park in Omaha, Neb. All 16 NCAA Super Regional competitors are in this week’s Top 25.

Tennessee (50-11) tops NCBWA Division I Poll

Tennessee is No. 1 for the fourth week in succession, while Kentucky and Texas A&M remain Nos. 2-3 ahead of North Carolina and Arkansas. All 16 teams hosting NCAA Regionals are among this week’s Top 25 as well as No. 1 NCAA seed and the other seven seeds 2-8. Twenty-eight of the Division I conference champs either are among the ranked squads or received votes.

The NCBWA has announced its 2024 Division II honors, incldung its All-America and All-Region teams.

Tobias, Burns and Smith are Dick Howser Trophy National Players of the Week

The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) released its Dick Howser Trophy National Player of the Week awards presented by The Game Headwear for the period ending May 19. Arizona State’s junior infielder Jacob Tobias was named National Hitter of the Week, while Arkansas junior left-hander Hagen Smith and Wake Forest junior right-handed pitcher Chase Burns were named National Co-Pitchers of the Week.

Tennessee remains No. 1 for the third straight week, while Kentucky jumped one spot to a season-best No. 2. Texas A&M is No. 3, Clemson is No. 4 and Arkansas is No. 5, as NCAA Division I conference tournaments begin.

NCBWA names semifinalists for 2024 Dick Howser Trophy presented by The Game Headwear

The Dick Howser Trophy Committee, in conjunction with the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, has denoted the list of semifinalists for the 2024 Dick Howser Trophy presented by The Game Headwear. The prestigious award in college baseball is given to the top player based on two rounds of national voting by NCBWA members. This year’s 68 candidates come from 18 different conferences and 48 different schools.

Tampa (43-7) tops NCBWA Division II Poll

For the 14th straight week, the University of Tampa Spartans are the top-ranked team in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America (NCBWA) top 25 poll. Tampa received 19 of the 20 first-place votes, making this just the fourth time in the last 13 weeks UT has not been the unanimous number one team this season. The Spartans are 43-7 on the season and have been the top-ranked team in every in-season NCBWA poll this year, after checking in at #3 in the preseason poll.
