ANGELO STATE TOPS NCBWA DIVISION II POLL

DALLAS (NCBWA) A perfect 10-0 start to the 2020 campaign has landed Angelo State atop the first regular season edition of the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Division II Top 25. The Rams raked in 13 first-place votes on Monday to grab the No. 1 spot for the first time in program history.

Thirteen teams that were absent from the preseason top 25 made their way into the Week 1 ranking, including two that landed in the top 10. Southern Arkansas has captured each of its first 11 games of the current campaign and collected a pair of first place votes before settling into the No. 2 spot on Wednesday. Florida Southern, who was receiving votes in the preseason ranking, tallied one first place vote and is ranked 5th on the heels of an 8-2 start.

Two teams are appearing in the NCBWA Top 25 for the first time in program history. Biola is 14th after capturing nine of its first 10 outings, and Oklahoma Baptist settled into the No. 24 spot with an 8-2 record.
