COLORADO MESA TOPS NCBWA DIVISION II POLL

DALLAS (NCBWA) There was plenty of shuffling among the nation·s top 10 teams this week, and Colorado Mesa became the fourth team this season to assume the No. 1 spot in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II Top 25 poll on Tuesday after capturing 18 out of a possible 19 first-place votes.

The Mavericks are the nations top-ranked team for the first time since April 21, 2015 (Week 10) after stretching their win streak out to 10 with a four-game series sweep of then-No. 13 Colorado School of Mines over the weekend. Colorado Mesa has tacked up wins in 16 of its last 17 outings, and its two losses this season have come by three combined runs.

Both Barry (No. 21) and Angelo State (No. 23) re-entered the poll this season after brief absences. Wayne State (Mich.) is back in the Top 25 after a more-than 14-year hiatus. The Warriors last NCBWA Top 25 appearance came in the 2005 preseason ranking (T-25th).
