DALLAS (NCBWA) – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association released its NCAA Division II National Players of the Week awards for the week ending on March 10. Florida Southern sophomore first baseman Jacob Teter is the National Hitter of the Week, while Chico State junior lefty Grant Larson is the National Pitcher of the Week.

Teter (Melbourne, Fla./Eau Gallie HS) earned Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week after leading Florida Southern offensively to a 5-1 week, including series wins over Felician University and Claflin University. The sophomore was 13-for-22 from the plate with 17 runs batted in, nine runs scored, five home runs, and five walks. The Melbourne native's top game of the week came in the finale against Felician where he went 4-for-4 with 10 RBI and two home runs. The first baseman slashed .591/.667/1.273, tallied 28 total bases, and reached base safely in all six games on the week.

Larson (San Diego, Calif./High Tech HS) made Chico State baseball history Monday, with a complete-game, one-hit shutout in a 5-0 win over Cal State Monterey Bay. The lefty retired 10-straight to start the game—five via strikeout. After issuing his lone walk of the day, followed by the Otters' lone hit, Larson down the next 17 Otters hitters to close it out, striking out a career-high 10 batters in nine innings of work.
