GEORGIA TECH IS NO. 1 IN NCBWA POLL

DALLAS (NCBWA) The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association
continues its tradition of NCAA Division I polls for the eighth year with
its 2005 weekly surveys. Weekly polls will continue each Monday through
June 28, following the NCAA World Series in Omaha, Neb.

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets took two of three from Miami over
the weekend to vault themselves to the top of the poll. After starting the
season ranked 11th, the Jackets have won 21 of their first 25 games and
are now 11-1 in ACC play. The loss to Miami snapped a 25-game conference
winning streak. Tech is the third school to be ranked No. 1 by the NCBWA
in the last three weeks. Tulane, No. 1, a week ago, fell to No. 3.

Founded in 1962, the NCBWA is dedicated to the advancement of college
baseball. Membership is open to writers, broadcasters and publicists of
the sport. Members receive a membership card, directory, newsletter updates
and official votes in the Xanthus Dick Howser Trophy, Regional Players of
the Year and NCBWA All-America voting. The NCBWA also sponsors the Pro-Line
Cap Division I Players of the Week, the Stopper of the Year, and publication
and writing contests.
